Charged with rape of own kin

KOTA BARU: A 34-year-old labourer was charged at the Sessions Court yesterday with raping his 3-year-old stepgranddaughter. He pleaded not guilty to committing the offence at a house at Kampung Sungai Hala, Machang, last month. The toddler was under his care after her mother died in a road accident a few months after giving birth in 2006. The accused, who was unrepresented, appeared calm when the charge was read to him before Sessions judge Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh. Deputy public prosecutor Nor Hamizah Ghazali urged the court not to grant bail as the accused might repeat the offence or hurt the victim.

"The victim has been living with him and his wife since the victim's mother died in a road accident three years ago," she said. Che Mohamad denied bail and fixed June 24 for mention.

Jilted labourer gets revenge in sex with child

KUALA LUMPUR: An 8-year- old girl endured two hours of hell last week when she was forced to perform oral sex on a man who threatened to throw her from the 15th floor of a flat if she refused. The incident unfolded about 3pm last Monday when the man, in his 20s, saw her playing alone with her toy near her unit on the fourth floor of the Cochrane Perkasa low-cost flats in Cheras. A source said the man seized her toy and asked her to follow him to the 15th floor, which was hardly frequented by residents, if she wanted it back. "There, the man undressed the girl, molested her and instructed the victim to perform oral sex on him.

"Initially, the girl refused but was forced to comply after the man threatened to throw her, along with her toy, from the balcony of the 15th floor," said the source.
The girl was held captive for about two hours, during which she was forced to perform oral sex on the man three times. After he was done, the odd-job worker threatened to beat her if she related her ordeal to anyone, before letting her go. For two days, the child kept the matter to herself . But noticing the change in her behaviour, the family managed to get the truth out of her. They lodged a report at the Pudu police station. A suspect was later picked up and remanded to facilitate investigations. According to the source, the suspect was believed to have taken his revenge on the child after failing to woo the victim's elder sister, in her early 20s. City Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah confirmed the case but declined to elaborate.
